What is FluencyNow? We provide live, one-on-one, conversation-based tutoring sessions with native
language speakers, via streaming audio and video. It all takes place at times of
your choosing, in the comfort of your own home.

Why the emphasis on conversation?
With FluencyNow you'll learn another language the way you learned
your own native language, by speaking and hearing others speak
correctly. Real-life conversation will allow you to work toward oral
fluency and increased comprehension and to conquer any fear you may
have of speaking. You will gain the confidence to communicate when
visiting foreign countries or conversing with native speakers.

How long are the sessions? 50 minutes
|

How much do the sessions cost? Each session costs $30. If you purchase a 10
session package you will automatically receive the 11th free!
|

What will my tutor and I talk about? You will have conversations on
topics of interest to you, tailored to your level of speaking proficiency.
These may include travel, business, family, sports, entertainment, food
and hobbies. We encourage you to indicate topics that you would like to
discuss and those you would prefer to avoid.

What do I do when it’s time for my session? Go to My Account. Click 'Start
Session'.

If I buy multiple sessions, how do I keep track of them? If you have
purchased a block of sessions you can simply sign in on the
FluencyNow website and go to My Account. Here you will find your
account history and number of remaining sessions.

What are the technological requirements? You only need a high-speed
internet connection and an audio headset with microphone. If you have
a webcam and would like to use it, you’re welcome to do so. Your tutor
will have a webcam so you can watch him or her speaking. Click here to buy a headset or webcam.

Will the session be conducted entirely in the target language?
Yes. Using the immersion method, the tutor will attempt to conduct the
session entirely in the target language.

If I buy multiple sessions can I use them with more than one language?
Yes! You can use them with whichever languages you choose.
|

Do the sessions ever expire? Yes. They expire 6 months from the date
of purchase.
|
|
What is your cancellation policy? Any session can be canceled
without penalty up to 12 hours in advance. The session will then be
re-credited to your account. If a session is canceled by the client
with less than 12 hours notice it is not refundable. If a session is
canceled by FluencyNow with less than 12 hours notice it will be
re-credited to the client's account and the client will receive a $5
gift certificate for future classes.

What is your refund policy? FluencyNow does not refund sessions which have been purchased.

If I’m currently taking language classes or studying with CDs, is
FluencyNow for me? Absolutely. With FluencyNow you will get the one-
on-one, intensive practice that is often lacking in classroom settings and
the interactive speaking that books and CDs do not provide.
|

My child is 5 years old. Is FluencyNow for us? We generally find that
children aged 8 and below may have difficulty focusing their attention for
50 minute sittings. This varies by child, however, and frequently
depends on a child’s level of language proficiency. It is for each parent
to decide if FluencyNow is appropriate for the child.

I’m a homeschool parent having trouble effectively teaching my children
a foreign language. Can FluencyNow help? Yes! FluencyNow is used
by many homeschool parents, particularly as a complement to books or
CDs. When you schedule sessions for your child you’ll be able to
specify topics you would like covered. We can help your child master a
language or prepare for college admission in a safe, monitored
environment.

I’d like to prepare for an upcoming international trip by learning a bit of
the local language. Is FluencyNow for me? Yes. We have basic
conversational material designed especially for tourists and travelers.
You will receive an email prior to your session with written material to
facilitate your conversation.

I want to learn a language but I don’t speak a word. Is FluencyNow for
me? While ideally designed for those with some basic knowledge of the
target language, FluencyNow can also provide conversation for
beginners, particularly in the case of tourists or travelers preparing for
an international trip.

I’m a teacher or school administrator. Can FluencyNow be included in
my curriculum? Absolutely. With FluencyNow you can offer students
the intensive one-on-one conversational practice not possible in a
traditional classroom setting. Teachers can quickly indicate topics they
would like covered in the tutoring sessions. Giving your students more
speaking confidence will make classes more productive and enjoyable,
without creating more work for teachers!
